A. At the Doctor’s Surgery

Nurse: How can I help you?

Mother: My son has burned his arm.

Nurse: Has he had a Covid test ?

Mother: Yes he had a positive Covid test 10 days ago.

Nurse: I will give him a Covid test now to see if he still has it. Then he can see the doctor.

Jack: Oh no, not another Covid test up my nose !

Nurse: It will be very quick.

Jack: Don’t worry I won’t scream !

Nurse: Wait in the waiting room and I will give you the results in 15 minutes.

Jack: I feel well. I only have a little bit of a cough.

15 minutes later……

Nurse: I have good news for you. You don’t have Covid.

Jack: Yay ! That is great news !

Nurse: You can now go into the doctor’s office.

Doctor: Hello Mrs Williams, what’s the matter ?

Mother: My son, Jack, has a burn.

Doctor: Jack please can you show me where the burn is.

Jack: I burned my arm.

Doctor: How extraordinary ! Your burn is blue !! I will give you an injection of antibiotics. Perhaps the burn is infected.

Jack: Oh no ! I hate injections ……. eeek !

Doctor: Please come back tomorrow. I want to see the burn. If it’s not better you will have to see a dermatologist.

Mother: I don’t know why the burn is blue. Do you know Jack ?

Jack: Mmmmmm ? ?

Mother: What did you say Jack ?

Jack: Nothing !

Doctor: Please make an appointment and come and see me tomorrow. I want to check Jack’s burn.

Mother: We will. Thank you doctor. Good bye.
